Favre defy Father Time to carry Vikings to 27-24 victory over Cardinals
Nov 8th
NATIONAL Football League superstar quarterback Brett Favre have recently proven that he is still on-top of his game despite being already 46 years old.
Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to a morale-boosting 27-24 victory against the visiting Arizona Cardinals in the ongoing NFL season.
The superstar quarterback had a superb game as he threw for 446 yards, more than he had throw in in any of his previous 285 career regular season starts.
Favre also had 36 completions which tied for the most in his career (had 36 on Dec. 5, 1993 at Bears) to improve his team’s win-loss record to 3-5 which ties the Cardinals this year.
The veteran quarterback was on-fire in the game as he engineered another jaw-dropping fourth-quarter comeback that may have saved the Vikings’ season.
The Vikings top quarterback was simply awesome in the game as he completed 36 of 47 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions in easily his best performance of the season.
It was his first 400-yard game since Dec. 5, 1993, when he threw for 402 at Chicago as a Green Bay Packer.
The great performance of Favre made him joined the ranks of Tommy Kramer and Joe Kapp as the Vikings quarterbacks with the most prolific passing games in team history.
Cardinals star quarterback Derek Anderson for his part top-scored for his team in a losing cause as he went 15 for 26 for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald supported the strong game of Anderson for the Cardinals as he had seven catches for 107 yards, who had the ball first to start overtime.
Although the loss is disappointing for the Cardinals, it had some silver lining on it since it showed the world that Anderson is now ready to carry the team on his back after the recent retirement of the team’s former superstar quarterback Kurt Warner.
Arizona Cardinals, undrafted rookie QB Max Hall ready to roll vs. New Orleans Saints
Oct 9th
The Arizona Cardinals are now 100 percent ready to battle the defending National Football League champion New Orleans Saints at their home-floor on October 10.
The Arizona Cardinals have prepared some tricks in their game against the New Orleans Saints as undrafted rookie quarterback Max Hall will take the starting spot as quarterback for the team.
The decision to place Hall as starter might be surprising but Cardinals coach Ken Whisehunt said it is the right thing to do since the young quarterback had done a great job the past four games of the team.
Whisehunt said putting Hall as their starter against the veteran Saints superstar quarterback Peyton Manning is a good match-up since it gave them better chances against the defending NFL champion.
He said some sectors might find it odd that a rookie takes the role as lead quarterback for the Cardinals but he felt Hall is ready to lead the team against the Saints.
The 6-foot-1 Hall a hometown favorite, having grown up in nearby Mesa is happy and grateful to be given the chance to start for the Cardinals against the Saints.
Hall promised to give his 101 percent for the Cardinals so that they can take their third win in the 2010 NFL season against two loses.
He said the Saints might be the defending champion but the Cardinals will give them a run for their money.
Having a superior 3-1 record against 2-2 of the Cardinals, the Saints are favored to win against the home-team.
As the NFL MVP, Manning is expected to overpower and outplay the young Hall in their quarterback duel.
However, the Cardinals could still win and pull a surprise if Hall will have a superb game in-front of their fans come game-time Sunday.
