Bills gets 1st win in 2010 NFL season

THE SEARCH for its first win in the current National Football League is now over for the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills snatched its first win this year beating the visiting Detroit Lions 14-12 in the 2010 NFL season.
With their victory the win-loss record of the Bills now stand at 1-8 while the Lions dropped to 2-7 in the current NFL season.
Bills superstar running back Fred Jackson was the top performer of the home-team as he ran a season-best 133 yards and scored twice in leading the Bills get past the Lions.
The Bills team employed tough defense and limited their turnovers to emerge victorious against the equally determined Lions team.

The home-team was very determined on its aim to get a win and extend the road woes of the Lions.
Bill star quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick also had a good performance in their game as he had 12 of 24 for 146 yards and a touchdown to help his team defeat the Lions.
Fitzpatrick was at his element as he orchestrated good plays for his team that lead to their victory against the Lions.
The Lions for its part were very sad with their loss since it is their 25th straight road loss since 2007.
The visiting team played their best in the game but the Bills proved to be a tougher team than them that lead to their loss.
Despite their loss, the Lions remain confident of their chances in the 2010 NFL season.
The Lions believe if they play hard and as a team they have strong chances of entering the NFL playoffs and even compete in the Super Bowl this year.
Favre defy Father Time to carry Vikings to 27-24 victory over Cardinals

NATIONAL Football League superstar quarterback Brett Favre have recently proven that he is still on-top of his game despite being already 46 years old.
Favre lead the Minnesota Vikings to a morale-boosting 27-24 victory against the visiting Arizona Cardinals in the ongoing NFL season.
The superstar quarterback had a superb game as he threw for 446 yards, more than he had throw in in any of his previous 285 career regular season starts.
Favre also had 36 completions which tied for the most in his career (had 36 on Dec. 5, 1993 at Bears) to improve his team’s win-loss record to 3-5 which ties the Cardinals this year.
The veteran quarterback was on-fire in the game as he engineered another jaw-dropping fourth-quarter comeback that may have saved the Vikings’ season.
The Vikings top quarterback was simply awesome in the game as he completed 36 of 47 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions in easily his best performance of the season.
It was his first 400-yard game since Dec. 5, 1993, when he threw for 402 at Chicago as a Green Bay Packer.
The great performance of Favre made him joined the ranks of Tommy Kramer and Joe Kapp as the Vikings quarterbacks with the most prolific passing games in team history.
Cardinals star quarterback Derek Anderson for his part top-scored for his team in a losing cause as he went 15 for 26 for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Minneapolis native Larry Fitzgerald supported the strong game of Anderson for the Cardinals as he had seven catches for 107 yards, who had the ball first to start overtime.
Although the loss is disappointing for the Cardinals, it had some silver lining on it since it showed the world that Anderson is now ready to carry the team on his back after the recent retirement of the team’s former superstar quarterback Kurt Warner.
Saints beat Steelers 20-10 in 2010 NFL season

The New Orleans Saints has prevailed over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the battle between two of the hottest National Football League teams today.
Playing in-front of its fans, the Saints beat the Steelers 20-10 to solidify their bid to successfully defend their NFL crown this year.
The Saints captured the win through the great performance of its superstar quarterback Drew Brees who was able to able to give all all but two of 22 passes in the second half, including two fourth-quarter touchdowns that lifted them to victory over the Steelers.
The victory increased the win-loss record of the Saints to 5-2 while the Steelers dropped to 5-2.
The win is a great relief for the Saints since it erased their bad memories of a painful 0-17 loss at home last week against the surprising Cleveland Browns.
In beating the Steelers, the Saints has successfully made a bold statement that they are dead serious in retaining their Super Bowl crown this year.
Brees is very happy with their win but hinted that they still far from their goal which is why they need to continue training hard and playing by heart to bring joy to the franchise and their fans all over the globe.
The Saints superstar quarterback said they need to face whatever odds if they wish to rule the 2010 NFL season.
In the game, the Steelers used their vaunted defense against the Saints but the defending NFL champion proved they are a tough cookie to beat in their own-home-floor
Despite their loss, Steelers superstar quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is still very happy with their success this year and he is confident they can still improve and become the NFL champion this year.
Roethlisberger revealed the Steelers are very hungry for the Super Bowl crown this year which is why they would do everything just to achieve it.
Packers beat home-team Jets 9-0

THE BID of the Green Bay Packers to solidify its National Football League playoff slot got a much needed boost in the current NFL season.
The Packers improve its win-loss record to 5-3 after beating the home-team New York Jets 9-0 in the 2010 NFL season.
Packers kicker Mason Crosby took charge for the visiting team as he scored three field goals to hand the Jets a rare shut-out loss this year.
The last time the Jets suffered a shut-out loss was on November 19,2006 against the Chicago Bears 0-10.
With their loss the Jets dropped to 5-2 and had kiss goodbye their five-game winning streak.
Aside from the masterful performance from Crosby the Packers beat the Jets through a strong effort defensive effort of the team particularly on the top quarterback of the Jets Mark Sanchez.
Sanchez, who is the main main in the previous wins of the Jets was only 16 of 38 for 256 yards and two interceptions—both on disputed calls—and had at least four passes dropped by receivers.
The strong effort of the Packers negated the lacklustre performance of star quarterback Aaron Rogers who only finished 15 of 34 for 170 yards.
The Packers is very happy with their victory and hope they can sustain it until the end of the current NFL season.
The Jets for its part lead by coach Rex Ryan is sad with their loss and hoe they can still play with Packers this year so that they can avenge their humiliating home-loss.
Sanchez for his part is also sad with their loss but promised the team will learn from it so that they have a great 2010 NFL season.
Bills fell short vs. Ravens 34-37

The Buffalo Bills once again fell short on its quest for a win in the ongoing National Football League season.
The Bills suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of the host team Baltimore Ravens 34-37 in the 2010 NFL season.
The Bills were on the verge of winning its first game in the current NFL season when Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis stripped the ball from Bills tight end Shawn Nelson, to carry the Ravens to an escaped victory against the Bills.
Lewis played hero in the game as he stopped the Bills from escaping with a victory against them.
Ravens safety Ed Reed also had a nice game against the Bills as he force three turnovers to the visiting team that lead to their victory.
The superstar quarterback of the Ravens Joe Flacco also contributed big for his team to their victory as he threw three touchdown passes, to improve to 14-1 under Ravens coach John Harbaugh against teams with sub-.500 records.
With their latest victory, the Ravens are feeling high these days.
Harbaugh believe that if they can sustain their winning momentum they have a huge chance of getting a slot at the NFL playoffs and compete for the Super Bowl this year.
The Bills for its part are still confident of their chances in the 2010 NFL season despite their bad record.
Bills coach Chan Gailey said hope is not lost for them all they have to do is to continue to play hard and avoid their usual errors.
Gailey said they have a great team, all they have to do to win games is to play tough defense and avoid mistakes.
NFL Super Bowl favorite Cowboys dropped to 1-5

Before the start of the current National Football League season, many experts pick the Dallas Cowboys to win the Super Bowl crown this year.
However as the 2010 NFL season progresses such lofty expectation is not holding water anymore as the Cowboys suffered its fifth loss in the 2010 NFL season with only a single victory to boot.
The New York Giants defeated the Cowboys 41-35 last October 25 to further expand the woes of the team.
Giants superstar quarterback Eli Manning played hero for his team as he spearhead the Giants from a 13-point deficit to a 41-35 victory that put the Giants a full game ahead of the NFC East and tied for the most wins in the conference.
Manning led the Giants on five straight scoring drives over the middle two quarters, posting 31 points.
The victory is very sweet for the Giants who are in a catch-up mode all game long.
With their victory, the Giants now hold an impressive 5-2 win-loss record and moves closer to their aspirations to enter the NFL playoffs and compete for the Super Bowl crown this year.
The Giants are now on-course to enter the NFL playoffs if they can sustain their winning season until the end of the NFL regular season.
The Cowboys on the other-side of the coin is in danger of losing the chance to play in the NFL playoffs.
However, the Cowboys still has the chance to enter the NFL postseason if they can duplicate the feat of the Cincinnati Bengals who still managed to enter the NFL playoffs in 1970 in-spite of their 1-5 record.
To start winning the Cowboys must learn to limit its errors and have play even harder in their remaining games in the NFL regular season.
Cowboys 38-year-old back-up quarterback Jon Kitna must also play big in the absence of Romo.
A big challenge now awaits Kitna, who hadn’t played since Oct. 5, 2008, when he was part of Detroit’s win-less season.
If Kitna can rise up the occasion, the Cowboys have better chances of getting the chance to play in the NFL postseason this year.
Broncos suffers 4th home-loss vs. Raiders 14-59

The Denver Broncos continue to bring tears to their fans as they suffer their fourth loss without any single win at home in the ongoing National Football League season.
The host Broncos suffered a lopsided 14-59 loss to the Oakland Raiders who are in mission to improve their NFL standing last year in the current NFL season.
Raiders running back Darren McFadden played villain to the host team as he scored four touchdowns and had a stunningly quick start to bring down the Broncos and solidify further their NFL playoff chances.
McFadden was very inspired against the Broncos as he scored at will to the soft interior defense of their opponent.
The Raiders executed their game plan properly as they hiked their win-loss record to 3-4 and dropped the Broncos to 2-5.
Raiders coach Tom Cable is surprised and happy with their victory against the Broncos.
With their victory, Cable vowed that his team play even harder next time so that they can continue to get wins in the 2010 NFL season.
Cable said if McFadden and the rest of the team will continue to play good he is confident of their chances in the current NFL season.
Playing in-front its fans, the Broncos does their best to defeat the Raiders.
However, the effort of the Broncos fell short on the talent and skills of the visiting team.
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said the team played good but the Raiders was simple too much to overcome that day.
McDaniels said the injury of their three dependable defensive players namely emotional leader Brian Dawkins (knee), cornerback Andre’ Goodman (thigh) and linebacker Robert Ayers (foot) contributed to their loss.
He said despite their bad record, his team will bounced back in their next games and make their 2010 NFL campaign a success.
Titans survive injury of Young beat Jaguars 30-3

The Tennessee Titans survived the scare of losing its top quarterback when it escaped with a 30-3 victory against the home-team Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2010 National Football League season.
Titans veteran quarterback Kerry Collins had a nice game to carry his team to victory against the Jaguars despite losing the team’s starting quarterback Vince Young to injury that same game.
Showing the stuff that made him an NFL star, Collins completed 11 of 16 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, directed five consecutive scoring drives to carry his team (4-2) atop the AFC South.
Playing in placed of the injured Young, the 37-year-old quarterback was fully focused in the game as he orchestrated the plays of the Titans masterfully that day.
Titans running back Chris Johnson also complemented COllins nice game with a great performance of his own as he got 111 yards rushing and scoring late in the game to help his team take their lead in their division alongside the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.
Titans coach Jeff Fisher lauded the performance of his two stars in the game since it resulted to their victory against the home-team.
Playing in-front of its fans, the Jaguars does its best to battle the Titans toe to toe but disaster also struck on the Jaguars when its starting quarterback David Garrard also got injured in the game.
However, unlike Collins, Trent Edward, the newly acquired Jaguar failed to deliver in the absence of Garrard which lead to their loss.
Luck was also not on the side of Jaguars in the game as they suffered four mistakes in the game that caused their defeat.
With their loss the Jaguars dropped to 3-3 win-loss record and in danger of losing the chance to enter the NFL playoffs and fight for the Super Bowl crown this year.
Despite their predicament, Jaguars coach Jack del Rio is still confident of their chances in the 2010 NFL season saying all they have to do is to limit their mistakes and play much better in their next NFL games.
Fisher for his part is very happy with their victory and chances in the ongoing NFL season since it solidify their chances of entering the NFL playoffs and playing in the Super Bowl this year.
Despite 0-5 record, 49ers confident of taking NFC West crown

The San Francisco 49ers might have a dismal 0-5 win-loss record, but the tean remains confident of their chances in the current National Football League season.
In a recent media engagement, San Francisco 49ers president Jed York made a bold statement that he fully trust his team to have a great year in the 2010 NFL season.
York said the team is very confident that they could take the NFC West crown this year despite their dismal win-loss record.
Like its president, the 49ers are themselves fully motivated to accomplish their goal of success this year amids their woeful record.
Despite calls for a roster change Mike Singletary, the coach of the 49ers has stood firm with his decision to stick it out with Alex Smith , the team’ starting quarterback.
Some sectors called on Singletary to replace Smith on the starting line-up due to the ton of errors committed by the quarterback in their past five games that lead to their losses.
Singletary said Smith might not be playing his best professional football game this year yet but he is confident he will soon have a superb game if he will just stay focus and play much harder in their next games.
He said Smith remains the 49ers starting quarterback when the team host the Oakland Raiders on October 17.
The 49ers coach however said the team will evaluate the performance of Smith per game basis to determine if still deserve to be the team’s starting quarterback after their game against the Raiders.
Smith is very happy with the decision of Singletary to keep him on the starting line-up.
The 49ers star quarterback vowed to play harder and be less cautious so that he can think and play better for his team.
Having a superior 2-3 record, the Raiders is favored to roll past the 49ers in their game.
However, the host team could still surprise the Raiders if they will play as a team and with an added passion to win their first game in the professional football season in-front of their fans.
