A NEW AND POWERFUL BENGALS
Jul 28th
The Batman and Robin of NFL finally come together to play side by side. The Ocho Uno and Ocho Cinco have now been designed to play together and make the Cincinnati Bengals on top. The known to be dancer-and-dater in a reality show, Chad Johnson, now known as Chad Ochocinco (#85) made a contract with the Bengals and one day later, his very good friend, Terrell Owens (T.O.) also signed a $2million base salary contract with the same team plus $2million dollar as incentives.
Owen, in his Twitter account, said “Ocho Uno is coming to town!! Hey Robin, Batman will b there soon!” He considers himself the Batman, and Chad as Robin.
Cincinnati Bengals owner, Mike Brown, is confident enough to have the two best buds to play for this season. He expects that the two will do great things with Carson. Although rumours have gone out to the public of Owen’s will be a lot of baggage in transferring to the Bengals because of his history in undercutting his quarterbacks, although T.O. showed a good behaviour in last season on Buffalo. Brown really doesn’t mind at all. As an orphanage team he do has a history of providing chances for those players who have caused trouble and allowing them to continue with their career in the Bengals.
Now, on the new player listing of the Bengals, can they still be on the 26th rank on the NFL’s passing game? I bet not! With Batman and Robin on the list and more practice, they will likely to be on top of the list. Bettors will now trust them as they can now cover the spread and totals and will allow bettors to make them money by betting. Anybody wants to wager? On their game with the Patriots, can this tandem work as expected?
A GUILTLESS EAGLE!
Jul 27th
Philadelphia Eagles have been so keen on their famous quarterback, Michael Vick, who was reported to have travel restrictions to Pennsylvania. They are positive and don’t worry about Vick’s travelling with the team during preseason and regular season.
Vick has reported to have been involved in shooting Quanis Phillips (a co-defendant in the dog fighting case against Vick on 2007). The incident happened in Vick’s 30th birthday celebration, 25th June, 2010 at around 2:00 AM outside the Guadalajara nightclub in Virginia Beach. Authorities together with the Philadelphia Eagles initiated the investigation.
In the interview with Vick, the authorities came up with a conclusion that he is not actually the shooter not is he aware that someone’s going to be shoot. He definitely has nothing to do with any of that business. And claims had been said that Vick wasn’t even at the very spot where the shooting occurred. Vick has been very cooperative with the authorities by answering their questions diligently.
Reports and speculation about the Eagles considering releasing Vick from the team are not true and expressed a safe statement “We will continue to gather information and monitor the situation and we will not have any further comment until that process is complete.”
Can Vick’s issue affect the team’s performance over the games scheduled in the NFL? Will Vick still have the trust of his co-players? Can this issue possibly make the Eagles to decide to release him from the team? Will his absence enough to cover the totals and spread set by the sportsbook? Can the sports bettor still trust the Eagles and put wager on them?
The league spokesman, Greg Aiello on Monday told the media that the famous quarterback has no change in his playing status. The NFL never gave Vick any disciplinary action regarding this issue.
Vick showed his guiltless face and showed his willingness to still play and never minding the issue. The Eagles however are very supportive on him by accepting him as if nothing happened.
IS COWBOYS’ TEAMWORK AT STAKE?
Jul 26th
Traditionally, new football players are asked to do something to serve the team. Carrying the water, other players’ pads etc. Most of the time, this is followed by the rookies. However, Dallas Cowboys’ rookie Dez Bryant, a former Oklahoma State star, opts not to follow the tradition. In the Cowboys’ morning Sunday session, wideout Roy Williams handed his pads over to Bryant but the latter opt not to carry it. Veteran players traditionally hand their pads to a rookie after a practice.
The thing that happened in that morning session caught football followers attention on Bryant’s attitude. They asked the rookie on his stand about what happened and he diligently answered the queries. He said he’s in the training camp to catch passes and not to carry somebody else’s pads after practice. Moreover, he said that he feels like he was drafted to play football, not carry another player’s pads. He stated that if he was a free agent, it will still be the same thing.
Williams was also interviewed regarding what happened. He shared his rookie experience with the Detroit Lions and did carry the pads and paid for the meals. He also stressed that no matter if one is the No. 1 pick or the 7,000th pick, one should still have to do something when still a rookie. However, Williams was confident that he was not insulted at all; instead he stated that “Controversy is what everybody loves, try to pin him against me, me against him, and it’s not going to work.”
Can the rookie’s attitude affect their team play and personal relationship? Can it also be possible to affect the performance of the Dallas Cowboys on their game with the Cincinnati Bengals on the 8th of August and will not be enough to cover the spread and totals set by the sportsbook? Can the sports bettor still trust the wideout’s performance when the rookie is also inside the field? Let us all find out after the match.
FAVRE’s INDECISION: TO PLAY OR NOT TO PLAY IN THE 20th NFL SEASON
Jul 22nd
Minnesota Vikings #4 Football Quarterback Brett Lorenzo Favre undergone ankle surgery after being injured in their last game in which they unluckily lost in the overtime. Three surgeries for this 40-year old 19-year veteran football player definitely mean a lot of changes physically.
In no more than two months time before the start of the 20th NFL season, rumours are coming out from every corner of football world if he will still take part on the season. Recent meeting with Viking’s coach, Brad Childress, has not concluded if it is a YES or a NO. Due to his indecision until now, an agent of Men’s Journal referred him as a “DRAMA QUEEN” (Bus Cook), in which he reacted as not true. Things are not just in his decision. He still has to get back into his shape and nobody knows what Favre will do.
His decision is definitely not just a thing that his fans are after. Different sportsbook has already lay odds (future bets) for the spread and the totals in their game with the New Orleans Saints. Handicappers have analyzed Vikings to be the underdog between the two (maybe because he isn’t decided yet). His indecision gives the bettors vague idea on whether to bet on Vikings or not.
In any way, we hope that he can give his final decision before the season starts.
COULD UMENYIORA’S HIP CONDITION BE A PROBLEM TO THE GIANTS?

Osi Umenyiora’s hip condition might be too serious to bear all through-out the NFL 2010 season. News has been circulated regarding the New York Giants DE asking for medical advice from the doctor. He was reported to have been suffering from this hip condition since 2006 and hasn’t done anything about it but to endure the pain it bears.
According to a reliable source, the doctor suggested Umenyiora to undergo hip surgery. Undergoing such could put him into jeopardy like situation because the recovery period from the hip surgery will last for almost half of the season. However, Umenyiora decided not to have hip surgery at the moment and play for the entire 2010 season. He assured the team that he can still manage to play even if he has a peculiar hip condition as he did for the past 4 years now. However, chances are, it could really worsen his hip condition and might ultimately come into a serious battle of pain for the player.
Although Umenyiora has been receiving shots of pain killers before each game, it couldn’t eliminate the need for surgery. He is hoping that he can have the surgery on the off-season and be covered with the three-month recovery period.
This worsening hip condition for the New York Giants DE could possibly affect his performance, although he has done great things on the past for the team. Not only does it will affect his performance but also the trust of the wagers to risk their bet on the Giants. Can his playing with an aching hip adds up to the teams ability to cover the spread and the totals on their game between the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 12, as their first game in NFL week one?
